Macerator pumps

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if I can downsize the intake and out put on a macerator pump with doing any damage to it?

I have a fish box with a 3/4 inch hose coming out. It was connected to a bilge pump (that wasn't working when I bought it) and the out put going through a thru hull fitting is 3/4 inch hose.

Looks like all macerator pumps come 1-1/2 inch in and 1 inch out

It should work fine with reducers but it would likely work much better if you run it full size
