Re: Mad cow disease in Alberta?
Mad cow disease, or BSE (bovine spongiform encephalo-pathy)
is a fatal disease that eats away the brain in
cattle, and was first reported in Britian in 1986

Scientists suspect BSE contaminated beef,
particularly central nervous system tissues,
used as food may cause a form of Creutzfeldt-jakob
disease (CJD) in humans, calling the BSE-triggered
disease variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease or vCJDA
About 100 people have died from the disease.

Symptoms are considerable pain in the legs and
arms. Dementia, personality change and movement
problems quickly appear, followed by coma and death.
