Magnapower cd box has given out twice now so i tried to convert to battery ignition per manual wire diagram but have no spark. Is there a difference between magnapower coils and regular battery ignition coils that would cause a no spark issue with this? Its a 1972 55ho chrysler

I believe there's a video out there to change to a better setup.
Google too.

If you go from Magna Power to a regular auto battery ignition system you have to change the coils.
Magna Power coils have a much lower secondary resistance then the battery typ.

Magna Power have about 500 Ohm secondary side (532 Ohm to be exact from factory manual).
Battery system have about 8000 Ohm secondary side (8100 Ohm from factory service manual).

Hope you from wiring diagram notice you have to add condensers too.

Yes i got condensers. Have batt voltage going to coil positive and the voltage going thru primary windings when points were open so thats when i thought maybe the coils were different but could not find anything in the service manual. Thanks for the info

No, no resistors.
Try to find factory coils at Ebay.
Regular auto coils are big and you may have problem to find space for them to fit under the hood.

Avoid coils with oil insulation if you use auto typ coils.
