Just get some new bearings.. Maybe they were previously installed?

Re: main rod bearing question

If you try to polish them you run the risk of changing the clearance that's been designed into the bearing. Clearances are set up for the oil to create a film for the metal components to run on and to allow for themral expansion of the metal. I have to agree with woppini. Get a new set of bearings. I'd also advise using plastigauge to be sure you have the clearance you require for the rod to crank shaft clearance before you do your final assembly torques.
