maintaince on used engine

This weekend I am buying a used 1989 Merc 90hp. This motor has been
sitting up for about one year (was serviced at local bass pro shop last Nov.)
Is there anything I should check or do before starting or using this motor.
New impeller? Decarbon? Clean carb bowls, etc.?

Get a book on your motor first off.There is a whole chapter on pm as for what you said all of the above. And lower lube. drain the old fuel, clean your fuel filters that a good start anyway.
