Maintenance Merc Outdrive

I have 2 boats with Merc IO's and after they set in the water all summer, about August the outdrive will not go down, the pump motor will run but I have to put it in F gear to get it down. Do I have to grease the bushing on the HD Cylinders, and if so what kind of grease do I use.

What year and type IO?
Have you checked the oil in the trim pump?

Ayuh,...

The bushings on the ends of the trim rams are plastic,+ Not greaseable...
But,...
There's Plenty of other things that need Grease,+ servicing...

What Year,+ which Model drives,+ motors do you have,..??
