Maintenance on 2005 Volvo Penta 5.0 GL

Hello,

New to the boating world.

I just purchased a 2005 Four Winns with a 5.0 Volvo Penta.

The previous owner does not have the owner manual and is looking for the last service record.

He did not change his oil last fall and stores the boat in a heated storage unit.

What maintenance should I do now before I put it in the water?

I believe I should use Synthetic 30W for the oil and read that the water intake prop should be changed yearly.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I would suggest a mulit weight and can be Synthetic or dino oil. Use 10W40 or 5W40, many use 15W40 diesel oil due to the higher zinc

A new to you boat needs to be looked at like nothing was ever done.
Change oil and filter
fuel filter
drive lube
water pump impeller (change every other year)
check drive alignment
Check belts
Test battery
