Got a 1997 Suzuki DT225 that ran perfect whenever I test drove it with seller. First time I took it out, the boat would not rev about 4000 RPMs. On my third mechanic now, have changed plugs, fuel pump, cdi. Tried it out and again got to 4000 RPMs, almost got on plane, then crapped out till could only get bout 3000 RPMs tops, no matter how much gas is given. At one point for quick second RPMs started increasing to 5000, but then back to 3000. Mechanic said he checked everything and got to be ignition control unit, but that thing is over $1000 bucks. when reving outside of water, even with motor in tank, it goes ruuuuuummmm ruuuuuummmmm 2500 to 4000, 2000 to 4000. Has anyone every had problem like this?
