Hi everyone I have installed new motor redid all the interior added new carpet and completly rewired the dash when I added new gauges and switches. Now I want to replace the snap on bow cover and the bimini style top that snaps to the windshield.
I have new sunbrella material and the old covers for patterns. What I'm not sure about is how to start this project? What does one do for the buttons and how do you match them up with the other half already on the boat as I don't have to replace these they are fine. Once you get a few on do you just stretch your material to line up the opposite side??? What if your off a little bit? How does one get all of this lined up and fastened and keep it tight?? PLEASE help I am a little lost here but once I get started I hope to figure it out as I go just not sure what tools I need and where to begin.Thankyou, Leo:(

the West Marine store in Lansing carries snaps and the tool for it (though I'm sure you can find it cheaper online, prolly here on iboats)

You have good material in Sunbrella. I would not stretch it too much. There is no need. If you put a snap in the middle for a pole, the pole will take up the slack. Use some tape and tape the thing down to the entire boat. Use chalk to mark where your snaps go. Use good tape that will stick well. It won't be on there long enough to worry about glue transfer.
