So I got myself a 86 Stingray that overall is in pretty decent shape. One of the issues were the plywood on the bottom section of the doghouse is really soft. I could most likely milk it till the end of this years season and either fix it or remake one from scratch. Was wondering what is everyone doing for doghouses that are not in great shape? Was looking for a guide or build process as to what kind of wood to use, is everyone doing poly on it or fiberglass over plywood? Was hoping to make it strong to support the weight of an adult. I dont have a ton of experience with woodworking but my old man does.
I dont have a picture of the engine cover damage but heres a idea of what the doghouse looks like...
Forgive me I dont know the exact names of the interior pieces of the boat yet. But the upholstery is shot on the long side pieces on the port and starboard. How would you guys tackle replacing the side pieces?
