Hello again... wondering if anyone has any suggestions about making some new seats for my boat. They are simple bench seats, foot and a half by 6 or so. now they are OSB, foam and naugahide (sp?) But they are rotten faded torn and smelly... I was thinking of looking for the same material, but that might be expensive, any alternatives? and some cheapo plywood, probably drill big holes in the bottom to breath, or would it be better as best sealed as possible? My big problem is finding stuff to use for the cover. Thanks in advance!
Craig

congrads on 100 Craig,

A few guys hve recently posted locations for fabric, foam etc. just do a search, i'm sure that you'll find it. BE CAREFULL! word is,.... Nauga's were recently added to the endangered species list. So i'm not sure what kind of trouble that you'll have, finding nauga-"hides". H@##, i've never even seen a nauga.

Anyway, to the seat structures. i've had very good luck using 5/8" green treated plywood. Additional, yup. put a couple of large (1 1/2" hole in the lumber so that the seats can exhale when you sit on 'em

Good Luck

Make the seat frame the way you want, then cover them with outdoor furniture cushions, velcroed on. Wash when dirty, or just replace altogether. Very functional and easy on the wallet.
