making your own gaskets / seals

Hi, I usually buy all my gaskets online but this time I have ordered the pump base gasket on ebay and the seller hasn't sent it yet, I have a fishing trip very soon and I think it will not arrive on time, so I'm thinking to make one my self, does anybody knows what kind of material is recommended? for this one Quicksilver 27-32771.

Gasket material, comes in various thicknesses, and materials for wet or dry gasket situations. Can be a very tricky job. In my younger days they made a kit for making gaskets, an exacto knife among other types of cutters and tools for making screw holes. Back then we had little choice but to make our own....

That is a very difficult one to do. Buy a correct one for the trip.
