Firstly, Thank you to all the replies to my other posts, this is a great site for members.

So, My little Mako 19, I just aquired, Goes quite well, the engine has a couple of minor issues but with the help of members 90% done.

This will be my 1st boat project

I have been reading about some of the restorations being done and completed and what inspiration they give.

What I am trying to do is consider the pros and cons of a full or partial job.

The hull is good as are the sides and console etc.
There are some soft spots on the deck and I think the foam is somewhat waterlogged.

The reference pictures I have seen on the site are good, but don't really tell me the time scales of how long some of the jobs have taken

How long does it take to get the deck off and foam out, and what should it be replaced with?

I don't have a garage so all this will be done out side.

Once again I look forward to any and all replies.

PS. How do I put photos up on the site?

I think the ammount of time it takes to do one of these projects is directly proportional to the number of willing friends you have and the quantity and quality of beer available to them......

Re: Mako 19 restoration

Sounds like you have a glass boat? I have an aluminum and i've been working on it for almost a year. I'm not done yet. I started with a tri-hull and after a couple of years cut it up with a saw. You will get the answers you need.
Pictures were a little of a chore when I first started. I saved my pictures to my computer. open advanced post. manage attachments, add files. basic upload. browse. open your folder with pictures. click on picture and open. your almost there. I can't remember the next move, but you should be able to figure it out from that point. I would like to think there is an easier way, but I don't know what it is. I'll check back to see how you made out.
