I had a Malibu V-drive wake tower boat today to winterize, Normally no big deal, Today was different. The usual, ropes/skis/wake-boards/wetsuits/life vests/unending water bottles, and just about everything you could put in a boat, used to all that, now to the MAN I TELL YA PART. as i opened the hatches and removed all the stuff to access the engine i encounter six bags of sand each weighing 120# each, without removing them, the access panel to the oil filter was not able to be removed, after dead lifting 320# twice with two other co-workers one of the bags broke, yep 120# of sand to clean up in the back of the boat. MAN I TELL YA!!. I didn't sign on for weight lifting.

Some people just don't give a crap. I have our marina winterize the engines in our boat, I do the rest. I always make sure the way is clear for the mechanic to get the engine hatches open so he has a clear and easy access to them. Just my way of being respectful of him and his time. No way he should have to clean up my junk.

I started reading this and began thinking I would have called the customer and told them there was extra charges for stuff in the way. And then the bags broke, more or less reinforcing that. Now the customer may claim that the boat may be damaged to some degree and the shop caused it by moving that stuff. I am not harping, just putting a view out there that may have some credibility. I believe the shop I used once for a winterizing had policies printed and signs around stating things like that, "not responsible for what happens when we move your junk around"
