Hello,

I have a 1984 2.5 L OMC. I'm going to be replacing the manifold gasket. The shop manual says to use a gasket sealer if there was leakage in the past. I have Permatex Aviation Form a Gasket sealer. Will that work for this application?

Thanks

yes.... kind of. Im not a big fan of sealant on intake and exhaust gaskets

however it there was leakage, first determine why and where.

check the head surface and the manifold surface for flatness

if the exhaust port was rusting, you may need to clean up the surface first with a giant flat file or a long-board sander and use permatex #1 vs #3 (aviation) if its an intake port, what was leading to the leak
