A few questions regarding a manifold replacement (I’m installing on 2008 3.0).

1. Drain plug on the bottom bottom of the manifold how do I get this installed? Guessing I need a really big allen wrench. Sorry couldn’t upload my photo, but appears an big allen wrench would do the job.

2. Should I replace the studs in the head? If so what tools do I need to get them out. Mine seem pretty secured and not willing to come out.

3. I am replace the studs for the carb. Should I put something on the treads going into the manifold?

4. After scraping the gasket off the head it don’t look at neat as the new manifold surface. Should I put a bead of gasket sealer on the head side of the replacement gasket?

*If I called the “head” the wrong part I apologize. I’m not mechanic lol.

1 if you mean the plug about 1 inch in diameter , allen or ratchet, with sealant just over snug 2 No need unless severely corroded/rusted. removal with vise grips or small pipe wrench 3 usually Blue Loc-Tite 4 no need for any type of sealant on the intake/exaust manifold gasket
