i have a rebuilt omc 5.7l gm( approx. 10 hours) and i replaced the starboard manifold and riser. with engine running on the muffs and temp gauge reading 160 the new manifold feels warmer to the touch than the port one. is this normal? the new manifold is from sierra, not sure were the port one is from, came with the boat. new manifold for port side on order.

Re: manifold temp

That can happen. What's it like in the water under load?

Re: manifold temp

I would check that you are getting the same volume of water into the manifold when I had a difference in temp the elbow that the hose attaching to it was part blocked.

As they are different makes it would not surprise me to have a slight difference in temp as long as I could comfortably keep my hands on them I wouldnt worry.
