I have to replace my manifolds and risers on a '89 5.7 Mercruiser. Anyone bought a kit lately? Who has the best price?

I have been internet shopping but prices seem to be dractically different from one site to another.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Hi Matt,

It shouldn't be about 'who has the lowest price'. It should be who has the best 'value for money'. Most often, the 'lowest price' is also the lowest quality. And manifolds are most certainly items you do not want to be of low quality... When manifolds fail, they usually take the engine with them, so you should be asking, 'Who has the best manifolds (and elbows)?'

The best manifolds are OEM (Mercruiser).... Barrs, Osco and HGE seem pretty reasonable if you don't want OEM..... You need to avoid the cheaply made ones, like Sierra and GLM....

Chris..........

FWIW, Barr and OSCO are OEM casting houses for Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, PCM, and others.

Barr is also the casting house for Edelbrock manifolds.

avoid Good Luck Marine (GLM) and Sierra
