Manifolds are cracked

I winterized my 1994 v6 volvo penta sx and put it all back together yesterday and noticed while on the muffs that both manifolds had hairline cracks and were dripping a little water. When I winterized the boat last year i noticed there was rust on the inside of the manifolds when I took off the hoses. I'm figuring that they are just old and maybe it was just there time to go because of rust. I went ahead and cleaned the cracks and put that water proof jb weld over and took the boat out. It did hold up and not even one drop. The boat ran fine as usual but curious if I can get someone to weld the cracks or may it be best to just replace? Plus how difficult would it be to remove and replace because it looks like they are just bolted on.

Did you drain the manifolds when you winterized it? Just taking off hoses does nothing, there is still water sitting in the manifold that must be drained or it will freeze and crack the manifold. Rust doesn't make them crack.

I pulled the hoses off each side and they drained. I left the hoses off all winter and I assumed they were fully drained. Also there is not a plug on the very bottom of the manifolds to get every drop so taking the hoses off are the only way I could drain the water.

The tag on the boat motor is completely faded off so I have no clue but its 1994 v6 and 4.3 GS on carb cover.

Interesting, I do see that the manifolds do not have drain plugs on that engine. Is there a slope to those manifolds that require the boat to be in a bow high or low attitude to drain properly?

FYI for future reference, chances are very good that it actually is not a 1994 engine. Boat and engine year frequently are not the same. Check this link to see if you have tags anywhere else.
