does anyone know if the 2001 manual on cd extends thru 2005? How the heck do i find the right part numbers for impeller kits? How do Mercury serial numers run: for example part says for A904646 and up. is 1B191175 higher or lower?

Buy the original OEM paper manual, not a pirate copy or aftermarket. The Opti engines are too complicated for aftermarket.
There are numerous web sites for the parts numbers.
Early Mercury's used number only serial groups like 5556666 thru 7778888. The actual numbers do not go in any pattern that we mortals can figure out.
Later engines started the serial groups with A or OA, OB, OC with the A engines being the earliest so an engine starting with B would be a later or newer engine than the A.
