brp-evinrude, parts & access. lower right there is literture, click there and it will take you the the site for the factory service manual. which is best , a little pricey, but worth it. it uses 50-1 fuel mixture and plugs are J4C gapped at .030

Try kencook.com or maxrules.com for the factory service manual.

Everything in the owner's manual is in the service manual. Search ebay for "6hp service" you can probably snag a used one. Johnson and Evinrude are mechanically the same in the 1965 6HP models

The BRP site doesn't have the 1965 and it is a little different from the 1966 on.

oem is better than seloc, seloc is better than clymer. intec is better than clymer. anything is better than clymer.

I:ve got a 6 horse evinrude i don;t the year of it the numbers on it is 6502m-e03156 It keeps fouling plugs run fine with new plug as soon as you shut it of and try to start the plug are fouled
