manual for evin 1990 40 tiller -- tilt unit

I have a 1990 40hp tiller with tilt, or something like it.<br /><br />My Clymer manual is for 2-40hp thru 1990, but doesn't cover the tilt.<br /><br />I need to know which manual does.<br />I want to know how it works.<br />It just has a cable going into it, but no wires??
