Manual, Gas/Mix for 8hp

Hi folks just received a Evinrude #E8rleds outboard motor from a friend in exchange for some plumbing work. The plate on the motor reads 1996 and my question is Will a seloc manual(which I have) that covers motors up to 1990 help with this 96' motor?? I know there is a gap of 6 years or so but the motor looks like the same as my 1989 30hp. Would the gas/mix be a 50:1??
Anyfeed back would be great.

50:1 is the right mix.

The 6 and 8 hp outboards changed in 1991, so your 1990 manual may be a bit confusing. The recoil starter is different, as is the ignition system. Get a proper factory manual for that year. There's almost always one on ebay. I got one for my 1992 6hp for $15, plus shipping.
