manual primer valve vro disconnected

I have a Johnson 150 vro disconnected. which position should the red manual primer valve be in up or down? thanks.

The "run" position for the red lever is for it to be parallel to the length (long side) of the fuel primer solenoid. If it's 90 degrees off, that's the "maintenance" position. Be sure it's in the run position.
