Hey dave. Pull out on pull cord all the way. Next you will need to hold spring while cord is out. Clasp cord where it will rap back up in pulley, and manually rap cord around the pulley 3-4 times. Release cord and this should retract cord back to its normal position. Remember though to hold that pulley while manually rapping cord, and in the same direction it will normal retract.
