Here's the cam from the Strand Historic District where most of the action is. Although its quiet now, it will get interesting later today when the parade and beads start flyin. Eight parades all total and this is the quieter of the two weekends. The weather stinks right now but is suppose to stop raining around 3:00 today. Not sure what kind of turn out we'll have.

Here's the Seawall Cam.

There will be a noon and 6:00 parade there. We will be on a flatbed trailer partying the day and night away. I will take some pics to share with y'all.

Each year, more than half a million people gather in the streets of Galveston Island to participate in the largest Mardi Gras celebration in Texas dating back to the 1800's. For 12 days and 11 nights the island is electrified by the sounds of live music, spectacular parades, elaborate masked balls, and flamboyant costumes. This year, Mardi Gras! Galveston salutes "Rock n Roll," beginning Feb. 13th and continuing thru Feb. 24th.

Our Krew's Float - Krewe de la Palapa participates in the Fat Tuesday Parade. Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesay where all good Catholics party their butts off before the beginning of lent when we have to give it all up.

DISCLAIMER: I will not be held responsible for lude and crude acts of party revelers competing for beads that may be exposed via web cams.
