I think that General Boating Might have been Better...If it's an Issue, JB will move it......

For Replacements, I Think you're going to find that it's Got to be Done Locally.... In Person....
Even if you sent the old cover out as a Pattern, The Snaps would have to be done as it was Fitted.......
I'd start looking in the Yellow Pages of the phonebook..... or whatever you Brits call them......
You could try a Google for "Upholstery".........

As for the Stretching it,..... An Inch sounds like an Awful Lot......
Maybe, Wash it in Cold water,+ Hang it Wet.............

Just a thought, you might want to consider having the new cover go over the windsheild to keep the sun out and wind driven rain. If your covers arent like this already. I was going to do that to my Mariah had I kept it. I agree with reputable local service. They usually arent cheap, but this is an item I wouldnt skimp on.

About the only thing I can think of to wait until the weather gets warmer and try to stretch it out again.

my mariah covers have done exactly the same, its a real pain, managed to pick up an all over cover locally, but it wern't cheap. what i got the upholstery people to do was to put like little extension bits of material on the bow cover so now it fits. put it under me overall cover just for extra waterproofing.

S1jor,
nice to see the good old u.k on here!
what boat do you have?
my bow cover isnt too bad but the cockpit is shrunk!
The mariah manual says that the covers will shrink by upto 1 inch.....common sense would say that you would add 1 inch and take up the slack with the poles??
however they didnt so i am still stuck!
Do you think that if i asked a trim company to stitch on 1 inch all the way round that they would do that sort of thing, most cover makers only want BIG jobs that make them loads of cash.
Thanks.

Re: mariah z182 covers

hi,i got a 180 shabah with 4.3 volvo, yeah you would think they would make the covers a bit bigger but oh well, i see no reson why a company wouldn't do that for you, the one that added the bits to mine where the company that i got the all over cover from. but there aint no harm in asking. try small upholstery firms found one local to me, doesn't specialize in boat stuff but did a real good on me boat stuff and pretty cheap compared to marine upholsteres

Re: mariah z182 covers

If you took your canvas,+ Removed the Snaps that are in it now...........
Just to get a little of the "Manual Labor" out of the way.....

Then take it to an upholsterer,+ have them Add a Strip around the perimeter, 1/2" wide(finished product)......
I'm sure they could do this,+ have it look nice with only an Extra seam.....
A Contrasting Color might even Look Good.......You'd end up with a 2" or 3" Border all the way round......
Gotta be wide enough to Hide the Old Snap Holes.......

Then it would be a matter of installing New Snaps.... This would want to be done "On the Boat"........

That Said,
I Used to date a Gal who had a small upholstery firm..... She fixed my bimini a couple of times....
Problem Was, She did Furniture.... Her Thread Rotted in a couple of years.......
Later, I had the repairs done at a Sign,+ Tarp Co........ Their Thread lasted till I Junked the bimini,+ Built My Own..................

Re: mariah z182 covers

I second Bondo's opinion. I was going to do this to my OEM covers on my last boat before I sold it. Mine fit it was just missing a crapload (technical term) of snaps. I was going to have a 2" strip sewn in to cover all the old snap holes and have new snaps fitted. Much much cheaper than an all new cover.
