Marine Airrrr system. No heat/no A/C

I have a marine airr Air con/Heat system onboard my '90 Doral Prestancia. I purchased this boat back in July.

I've tried the A/C a couple times without success. In "Start" mode the pump runs and it seems to be moving enough water. When turned to "RUN" mode, the compressor kicks in and sounds fine.

The fan speed dial makes no change in the actual fan speed. It is constant at what I would call low/medium.

The warmer/cooler dial makes no change in the air temp.

Air temp exiting the duct is room temp.

This past week I tried it for heat, with the dial turned full "warmer". system started fine, compressor kicked in, but temps didn't change. I left it run overnight to see if it would change, but no go.

Fins are all clean, unit looks clean, compressor is hot to the touch.

Any ideers?

4 years as a commercial refrigeration tech and 3 years residential hvac and the only thing I can tell you is that you need someone with skill to get their hands on your boat. It sounds like you've electrical issues from the ground up. Have you tried the simple things like disconnecting the power for 10 minutes, checking every possible fuse/breaker, looking for shorts and bare wires, check every terminal for corrosion and tightness etc? Sorry I can't be of more help, I wish I was closer to you!

I would normally guess the reversing valve is bad, but seeing as you're not getting heat or cooling I would think you are out of coolant. (reversing valves default to cooling mode). Good news is that marine units are fairly simple to remove so they can be worked on in a shop. Any HVAC guy that is familiar with water sourced heat pumps can test and repair your unit.

Yeah, thats what I figured. Thanks Halfmoa, I did check what I could, and everything "looks" fine. I'll have to call in the experts.
