Marine grade plywood question

I am replacing two pieces of wood - This is a fishing boat and gets wet - Will the marine grade plywood need treated after it is installed? Do both sides get treated?

I have seen that many people are no longer using carpet but are going with the vinyl flooring. If I go with the rubber or vinyl flooring does this protect it enough?

treat all sides. End grain and edge grain especially. Seal prior to install w/ marine
epoxy. Can't say about the flooring. Epoxy degrades in sunlight. I suggest a
good polyurethane paint w/ non-skid additive for decks. GH

Does the fiberglass resin work as good as the epoxy? I ask this because I am more familiar with the fiberglass resin and thought I would use that.

Polyester resin (commonly referred to as fiberglass resin) does not adhere as
well and is not as water resistant. It's cheaper than epoxy. The working
principals of the two resins are similar. Epoxy cures more slowly. If you are
more comfortable with polyester resin go with it. Leave no edge uncovered.

If you plan to use polyester resin you need to use glass with it, otherwise it will crack and peel off rather quickly, epoxy will do the same thing, just takes longer, epoxy and cloth make the best surface.
