I'm looking for 1/4" marine plywood for my new project. I live in St. Catharines Ontario, and I seem to be having a problem getting any. I went to rona and home hardware but the lumber guys had no idea what they were talking about and were absolutely no help. Hoping someone knows where I can get some locally or even in the toronto area.
Thanks

Re: Marine Plywood

Try a lumber yard (not Lowes or Depot). They should be able to order it if they don't have it.

Same problem here in Calgary.

None of the major chains carry it, or even regular exterior grade. The only place I could find it at all was at place called Timber Town, but I don't think that will help you down east. Just call around, I'm sure you will find some lumber yard that can order it for you.

Just be prepared for some sticker shock...

Regular 3/4" CD (not exterior) ply here is $25, ABx is $50, and Marine Grade was $140.

If you don't mind online orders, try these guys. They're just on the other end of lake Erie from you, south of Sandusky, Ohio.
www.marine-plywood.us
Their site listed several types and thicknesses of Marine grade plywood.

Exterior grade is good too. Not sure if you can get in 1/4". I used 1/2" marine grade on my deck. I think good one side will do just fine too. Coat the underneath with resin and cloth the top side.

Murman, any clear face plywoopd designed to lay tile on will work also. They have exterior glue in the. If you can get luan or thorboard those are the ones that I know of. Look for the underlayment that has the black dots for the screw placement every 6". That type of plywood is designed to replace hardiboard and is made the same specs as marine.
