1988 mariner 220 EFI Ran good on a remote gas tank with fresh gas. Put Gas in the boat tanks not knowing that there was water.. Took forever to start and ran rough.. I pushed the poor thing too far.. Did a compression test on one cylinder and found she dropped to 0 in that cylinder.. Head gaskets? Or worse? Look very carefully at the pics and see the small chunks chipped out of the cylinder head.. Is this just the glaze and I should hone it or is it chipping?
Any help would be great.. I feel terrible for forcing the poor motor.. Thanks guys rsz_head.jpgrsz_head_4343.jpg

Sure.....but it aint cheap and you cannot resleeve it yourself unless you have a machine shop.

You can get sleeve the LA or Advbanced sleeve and their about $100 each. You will have to have chrome bore bored out and then cut to sleeve size, block heated and sleeve/s installed. Then the deck must be milled to bring sleeve even with block deck and new sleeves bore out to standard size +.002. Multiply this per every cylinder damaged or out of round as a chrome bore can have a beautiful cylinder and be out of round., the last block I did this for a customer around $1500. It will be better to find a Xr4 steel sleeve block and have ported to 200 spec or find a 2.5 carb 200 powerhead and swap it over and sell XRI chit over on Screamandfly. You also need to get some 50:1 mix run thru the fuel system asap as water will lock up the fuel pump($600) and pit the pintles on injectors making them worthless ($450 ea x6=$2400)
