mariner 25 wwter in gear box

Could any1 help me water in gear box think there's ment to be a rubber seal on end of gear linkage were it goes into gear box were could I get diagram for this thanks jason

See under GEARHOUSING ASSEMBLY, item 6 is the shift shaft with rubber boot, item 7.

The first thing to do is replace the oil and ensure that you install new gaskets, item 3 on the Drain and Vent plugs, item 2, take it for a run and check it again.

Hi sorry didn't get them was it the parts list you sent for the mariner 28 this is a mariner 25 its another engine serial is 25m695 l308642 thanks alot gerry

thanks alot gerry it sorted it .. how would i clean the oil+water out of it so no water in it

Jason;

Don't understand your question. You must have drained it the first time to discover if there is water entry into the gearbox. If you are worried about any residual water, there are not many places to hide in there, so just drain and re-fill the gearcase, again, using new seals on the Drain and Vent/Fill plugs.
