Mariner 3.5 hp stalls after 20-30 minutes

The engine runs fine for a while and then stalls out. That is when the paddles come out. It is not out of gas, but it doesn't start for a while.<br /><br />Any ideas?

Its air cooled. I was wondering if the vent on the gas tank, which is built in, makes a difference. It looks like it screws down, and up, but I can't see if it makes a difference. Does anyone know what you are supposed to do about the vent cap?

If your talking about the little vent screw on the tank's cap, it should be open when running.<br /><br />Are you sure it's air cooled?
