Mariner 40hp ,4cyl,2str,1993 temperature switch activation

Hi i try to find what is the right temperature for temperature switch (part number: 87-16775A 3) to close the circuit .
I read the manual but at the only paragraph that i find something it seems to be wrong

I don't have the manual, but that section is for the oil injection system. The temp switch write up would be elsewhere in the manual.

Thak you for your response,but i searched the whole manual and i didn't find something for the temperature switch.
The 300? F sounds normal for the metal temperature ?

How can i test the temperature switch if still working properly ?
