Hello all...

Was wondering if there's any one who has in use a Mariner 2 strokes 5 HP double tank 2004 engine, need to identify as positive the existance of the lower small blue fuel filter (1), seems this is a check valve filter when using the interior upper gas tank, blocks fuel so does not tend to go down by inertia to the lower main external gas hose. Does you engine have same blue filter along with upper clear one (2), please advise.

Mariner 5 HP Fuel Connector Issue

Mariner 5 HP Fuel Connector Issue

Here's a link with your setup, yours is the one in the box. You turn the fuel valve off to use the remote fuel tank not depend on the filter to act as a check. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...ON/5327.png&inbr=4603&bnbr=60&bdesc=Fuel+Tank

Thanks for the info, somebody stated that someone else placed it on the line and that was useless, sorry to say but lower "filter/1" (a connector) according to spare parts manual is a check valve connector, if you remove and fill connector with gasoline and blow both passages, just one will let gasoline out. When you open external fuel **** valve, gasoline from internal tank will flow to filter 2, but connector 1 will block any gas also flowing to the main hose connector and spilling through it if you ever happened to have a faulty one. Have checked it personally and works that way. :D
