I have a 1982 Mariner 50 that started running bad after running out of gas saturday, it would only run a idle speed after filling the gas backup at any trottle. Made it back to the dock 2 hours later. Got home, cleaned the carbs with seafoam, started running back to a good speed. But I noticed when check fuel lines, with the boat off I pump the fuel bulb and it shoots gas out of the top carb and none comes out the bottom is this normal? Should I rebuild the carbs now? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sounds like a float/needle and seat problem on the top carb. After running out of fuel you probably sucked out some dirt from the bottom of the tank. Change all your fuel filters.

Chris........

I sprayed some deepcrep in to the carbs with the engine running, when I spray it into the bottom carb the engine will almost cut off,(NORMAL RIGHT?), but as I spray in the top one nothing happens. Should they both act the same? Boat ran fine for they day and on the way back started the samething, sprayed deepcrep again and backup up to speed. Should I get the carbs kit and rebuild them?
