Mariner 50hp four stroke 1999

Hi all

i want to atempt changing the impellor on my outboard but have never done one before.
I dont see a problem once the Lower unit is off but have been told by a dealer it's a real tricky job getting the lower unit back on, in particular the gear selector linkage.
i have a workshop manual for it but it does not mention the gear selector at all when removing the lower unit?

If anyone has any advise it would be great......

I can't imagine that it would be that more different than the MERC(same company), Put it in forward gear and try it. This process is designed to be simple
