you experts across the pond are certainly kept busy with all these seemingly easy questions, but I am afraid I have to add to your tally. could you please help me with the year, make/model and fuel mix of my 9.9 mariner? as it has been resprayed and the owner wasnt too sure he had the right decals on it.

the serial number is 9487998 and it was produced in belgium.

It's a model 9.9 built in 1986 and is 50 to1

thanks for being so quick with your reply, please could you answer my next question, it appears to have 2 different spark plugs fitted, the readable one is a ngk bp8hs are these correct.

thank you admiral your defanitely the main man, I have an imported 16ft sea nymph deep v, the 9.9 mariner does get it to plane nearly if I use a extension on the tiller arm. will the extension fins above the propellor help at all. is there any way of tweaking its power, jets in carb etc ?
