Mariner date of manufacture

Hi all, I have a 4 horse power Mariner outboard, how do I find out the date of manufacture?<br />Thanks............~~~Johnny~~~

I'll take a wild gueaa and say it is between a 1980 and a 1996.<br /><br />Seriously, if you post the model and serial number here, someone will be able to tell you.<br /><br />Or, you can go to this site:<br /> http://www.marinshopen.se/ <br /><br />Click on the "modelguide" button at the top right,<br />then click Mariner, then 2-8hp models, then scroll down to your model number and serial number.
