Mariner eight serial no 09661176 help with voltage regulator

hi to you all
could somone help me out i would like to draw 12v power from my outboard for charging purposes only and i would like to find out the year of my engine i cant seem to find anything with my serial number
any help would be greatly appreciated

Your s/n comes up as a made in Belgium engine:

8 09630000 - 09682499 1991

Thanks for that Gerry do you know if I can fit a voltage regulator to this model for charging and can I up the horsepower by changing the carbs ?

From the parts list in my previous post:

Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, etc. - ELECTRIC COMPONENTS (VOLTAGE REGULATOR AND HARNESS) - 6 / 8 HP 9.9 / 15 HP

As far as the 9.9 to 15, I haven't done it and therefore shouldn't advise you but I think there is a gentleman, MH Hawker on this site and you should talk to him. I think he has recently posted about the conversion.
