Mariner Oil Alarm

Novice boater here, made one of his first big mistakes. Have 1992 135 hp Mariner outboard. Forgot to check the oil injection tank, on last trip and began to get alarm, checked and tank was near empty. Stopped and checked and backup tank under the engine housing was full. Idle to closest dockside service station and filled oil injection tank. However alarm will not go off. Is there a reset somewhere on the engine to reset the alarm? Or should I take it to my mechanic?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Mariner Oil Alarm

Fill the under cowling tank, too.....it must be completely full before alarm will shut off, and it will not refill itself after the level has dropped....once full it should stay that way.

I would also recommend you check the screen on the end of the oil pickup tube in the remote/backup tank. Mine was 50% clogged w/ crud!
