I have done a lot of searching online and in this forum but cant find the year. Here is the serial number if anyone could help that would be great. 6E0 S-04772. My understanding is Japanese Mariners use a different number system. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi there, Is your engine a 40 HP by chance and are you sure the 0 at the end of 6E0 is not a 9?

I see that I had the wrong number. Its a 4 HP and the correct number is 6E0S-047727 No indication of model number but that is the correct serial number.

Thanks that helps.:)

Running your serial number shows it to be a 4 HP short shaft engine model number is 7004201 which is a 1981.
Here's a parts catalog for you covering the model number,

Just an FYI on this serial number though, If you look it up in a serial number chart, it's shown as an 1983. Either or, the parts should be the same.

Thanks much very helpful. Any suggestions on parts? I would like to put an impeller in it. Dont know if any local dealer would recognize that serial number. Maybe online merchant.

Thanks again
