Re: Martin "40" What year??
Hi Jim <br />Serial# 19665 is a 1948 model. Serial# 37924 is a 1949 model. So I guess yours is a 1948. The hp. is actualy 4.5. Points are set to .020. The mix is 3\4 pint to gal. of gas. These are interesting motors, I have a Martin 60, it uses pop-it valves driven from the crank for intake. A little like a four stroke valve. As you probably know they were built by the american presure cooker co. The 60 is a 7.5hp and makes my cheep 14' aluminium boat fly. Enjoy your motor.
