seen the movie... really liked it..!!<br /><br />it's a must see at the theature..the way it's intended.. not at home .. cause of big sound an scenes...<br /><br />my question of the period... why/how was there officers on board ..that were children... kids that were in command...

The class system. If you came from the aristocracy you were a officer, or if uncle Wilberforce owned the ship you were an officer.<br /><br />The current system is that if you have a college degree, even in basketweaving, you get to be an officer. <br /><br />We used to joke about Ensigns who didn't shave yet.
