Material question

Has anyone heard or used a material called "ALPOLIC"? It is a composite material with a aluminum film; and supposed to be stronger that aluminum plate. I want to use it on a boat project.

I've never heard of that material and would be interested in how you plan to use it.

I'm not sure how it would be used in a boat, not that it couldn't be, but with the product I'm familiar with, bonding to it could be an issue.

Almost forgot add. Frequently new products are developed with great promise, right up until you find out the cost and availability.

I am trying to design something. I just asked about the material. I'm not hiding the project; if I mentioned it the forum would go berserk. Please be patient; I promise I will let the members know the outcome. It's going to be a trial and error thing.

How can anyone make a recommendation without knowing something about the intended purpose? That's even if dozens of us have used it for it's designed purpose.

BTW - Do you have any pricing or availability info? It might be cheaper to buy a product already on the market than building your own from unproven materials.
