So looks like I have the chance at getting a 6.2. There seems to be no ancillaries with it or even the fuel system or ecu by the looks. Need to check. It was a 6.2 mpi but the seller used the stuff for new engine.

What would i need over and above what my 5.0 mpi has to make her run. I’m aware of the ecu perhaps but would all else be the same to change over ?

Probably just swap over, but look close into the injectors with an eye if they are big enough

Ecu reflash would be the biggest concern and if the harness and sensors on the 5.0 and 6.2 are the same. I assume you run and alpha which requires the shift interrupt, 6.2 ecu wouldn't have that as they were only sold with bravos, unless you are swapping the drive as well?

ECU, throttle body size and Injectors are all different. not sure on the manifold itself.

without the induction system, its simply a 377 (6.2) long block

CFM at 5000 RPM

305 - 375 to 485
350 - 430 to 557
377 - 463 to 600
383 - 470 to 609

Looked up all the motors of the 5.0, 5.7, 377 and 6.2 and while the early years used 861442A1 TB, all now use 8M0096994

Early injectors used 885176 and now use 87912003

Thanks AD. Mine is a 2003 and I think the 6.2 is 2005 from memory. Are those figures pressures ?

No, they are the amount Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) that a given motor can draw in running at 5000 RPM. Just info that the Throttle Body can handle the volume of air the motors can suck in for any of the builds.

The first number after the cubic inch is for Street use (regular cam and normal head), the second number is for race (high lift cam, ported heads and intake). The race numbers is the max air that cab be drawn in by that size motor
