How to Measure magnification
How can I see how strong a magnifying glass is?


I bought this magnifying glass http://www.liangdianup.com/inventory/189901.htm and I want

to know how to test it to see how strong it is. I hear a lot of people talk about

magnifying and how strong the magnification is, but I would like to know the true

magnification of my magnifying glass. I have a few of them and some seem stronger then

others. How can I rate these? How can I pin a correct number on mine? How do the companies

that make these come up with these numbers.

You can obtain a pretty good estimate by carefully measuring some text. Now use your magnifying glass to view the text to best focus and measure the image in the glass. If twice as big then the lens is near 2X, three times as big then 3X, etc.

Next time you pass any eyeglass store.... bring it in and they can measure it faster than you can read this.

I 1st saw it at a DIY home improvement site...
Always in the Wrong forum, without rhyme, nor reason...

I Seriously Doubt Hellogreen could even find their way back Here,..

Well considering this is a rough attempt at spam..... that is a low end poor quality magnifier.

If you want a quality magnifier order one by the amount of magnification from a reputable dealer........

Why not just get on the telephone and call the manufacturer.

I would have never thought this was spam. That's some weak spam. A legitimate question and website to some inexpensive glasses that wouldn't have the magnification on them.

Seems like the right forum to me. Considering DC is dead for now, no pun intended of course.
