measuring shaft length on motor

could anyone tell me how to determine the<br />shaft length on a motor. New to boating<br />and am not sure. thanks!!

Hey mountainboy,<br />I think ya measure shaft lenght from the bottom of the transom clamp to the C/L of the prop shaft. If this ain't so, somebody will come along and straighten us out.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

I always thought it was the distance from the transom bracket to the cavitation plate....not the prop shaft.
