I just recently got this boat and I have no clue where to start. The stringers where gone when I got this boat, Do I also have to replace the transom?

Once stringers are in what else do I do here?

Heres a pic of my boat; Its a 1977 16' crestliner apollo

Re: Measuring Stringers,etc

You have started at the right place. Spend several hours reading the posts in this section. Many of your questions (even the ones you haven't asked yet) have been asked and answered.

As to the stringers - I would lay several lines of string both lengthwise and cross wise at about the level where the floor should be. then I would take a number of measurements along the lines where the old stringers were. Plot this all out on a large sheet of paper. Then form some patterns out of cardboard and lay them in where the stringers woulg go. Make adjustments as required. I might then cut a few stringers out of scrap wood and test for fit. When all is right cut & glass the new ones. Follow with the transom (if needed) then a new floor.
