Took my Bowrider with and SEI 116 info for bellows service. Part of the service included trim puck replacment. Per the Alpha One Gen 2 service Manaual max extension of the trim cylinders should be 20 3/4". Check mine today as the trim gauge seemed off and the limit was at 22 3/4". Haven't run the boat yet except on muffs with the trim all the way down, so no risk of damage. But is that a minor oops, the spec for a 116 or something to be concerned about regarding the quality of the shop? Just curious on others opinions.

well, if the cylinders are over extended then they could blow the seals out, but it's unlikely.. My father had a boat with non working trim limit switches and you knew it was down by the squeal.. Never blown and it was an old boat.

SEI or OEM should not matter since it's a geometry issue. Unless the SEI is slightly different in placement for the rams

Agree you should be at 20 3/4 (Bravo is 21 3/4) so my guess is the person doing the adjustment didn't care and just eyeballed it if that. You paid to have it done so they should do it again but that said who wants to haul it back for that.

Yes there could be damage but only when the motor is running. The key is the drive needs to be low enough so the gimbal ring fingers (lack of another word) will be able to support the drive with loads from the prop. If its to high then the gimbal is not supporting the drive if prop is turning

Not to say that if its to high U joints and bellows can be damaged, but your not that high yet

I corrected the issue, I'm just glad I looked at it before putting it the water for the first time this year. Thanks for the input.
